Bensenville, IL was incorporated in 1884 and is very well known for its quality of life. This is a warm and friendly community that is home to almost 19,000 residents. We would like to keep our customers informed of everyday life in our great community. Below we have mapped out a few events going on around town. Check back frequently for updates to this page.

 

October 2016:

October 8 - Heritage Day at Fischer Farm: Head to the farm for a fall festival filled with traditional activities like candle making, pumpkin painting, rug braiding, and more. Admission is free; however, a $5 wristband for each child will get them a pumpkin, pony rides, and access to the petting zoo.

October 14 - Are you Afraid of the Dark? Enjoy some spooky stories around the campfire at Korthauer Log House. Bring a blanket and flashlight. This event is free and open to all ages. It starts at 6:30pm.

October 31 - Teen or Treat: If your kids feel they are too old to go trick or treating, but still want to have some good fun on Halloween night, they can head to the library for a Halloween movie night. The kids can vote from a choice of five movies and enjoy complimentary popcorn. The show starts at 7pm.


November 2016:

November 12 - Ecological Restoration and Stewardship: Meet at Varble Woods from 9am-12pm for a composting presentation from a Master Gardener.

November 16 - Ugly Christmas Sweater Decorating Party: Bring your own sweater, but the library will provide all the "ugly" supplies. It starts at 7pm and is open for adults only. Registration is not required, but space is limited.

November 22 - Thanksgiving with Mr. Lincoln: Learn about how the Thanksgiving holiday was first established in 1863 from President Abraham Lincoln himself. The event is open to all in the community and starts at 7pm at the Bensenville Library.


December 2016:

December 9 - Holiday Open House: Come to the library anytime between 4pm and 7pm to enjoy a special holiday celebration. The event is free and open to everyone. There will be live music, card making, treats, and more.

December 30 - Noon Year's Eve: Let your kids ring in the New Year while they're still awake. From 11am-1pm, the library will hold a family-friendly New Year's celebration, including a balloon drop at noon.
